Legal Issues & $13 Million Las Vegas Lawsuit

Blueface has faced numerous legal troubles. In late 2018, after an attempted robbery at a gas station, he shot at the robber’s vehicle, resulting in his arrest for shooting at an occupied vehicle, though he was bailed out shortly afterward. In early 2019, he faced additional charges for felony gun possession.

In October 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada, he was arrested on charges of attempted murder and shooting. He was booked in the Clark County Detention Center and later accepted a plea agreement to serve three years on probation. If he gets into any trouble during this time, a 2-5 year prison sentence will automatically be enforced.

The incident took place at a strip club called Euphoric Gentlemen’s Club, whose owner subsequently sued Blueface for lost revenue resulting from the club’s shutdown after the shooting. On October 23, 2023, the club owner received a judgment of $13 million against Blueface, who was specifically ordered to pay $13,072,482, which included $12.6 million in lost revenue, $200,000 in lease damages, and $84,000 for employee expenses. Blueface did not contest the case nor retain an attorney. By January 2024, having failed to contribute to the damages, his debt, including interest and penalties, escalated to $14 million.

In mid-January 2024, Blueface was arrested for probation violation relating to an assault that occurred in the San Fernando Valley in 2021.

Early Life

Born Jonathan Michael Porter on January 20, 1997, in Los Angeles, California, Blueface lived with his mother in Santa Clarita Valley before moving in with his father in Oakland. After returning to Los Angeles, he attended Arleta High School, participated in the marching band, and played as the starting quarterback on the football team, leading them to an East Valley League championship in 2014. Following this, he played football at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina but left in 2016.

He began his rapping career in January 2017, initially under the name “Blueface Bleedem,” inspired by the School Yard Crips street gang. Legend has it that he was discovered when he attended a friend’s recording session to grab a phone charger and ended up in a rap battle.
