What is Blueface’s net worth?
With a net worth of $4 million, Blueface is a rapper and songwriter from America. In 2018, he went viral as an internet meme following the release of his music video “Respect My Crypn.” His single “Thotiana,” featuring Cardi B and YG, is the most successful song to date, reaching #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2019.
Legal Issues & $13 Million Las Vegas Lawsuit
Blueface has faced numerous legal troubles. In late 2018, after an attempted robbery at a gas station, he shot at the robber’s vehicle, resulting in his arrest for shooting at an occupied vehicle, though he was bailed out shortly afterward. In early 2019, he faced additional charges for felony gun possession.
In October 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada, he was arrested on charges of attempted murder and shooting. He was booked in the Clark County Detention Center and later accepted a plea agreement to serve three years on probation. If he gets into any trouble during this time, a 2-5 year prison sentence will automatically be enforced.
The incident took place at a strip club called Euphoric Gentlemen’s Club, whose owner subsequently sued Blueface for lost revenue resulting from the club’s shutdown after the shooting. On October 23, 2023, the club owner received a judgment of $13 million against Blueface, who was specifically ordered to pay $13,072,482, which included $12.6 million in lost revenue, $200,000 in lease damages, and $84,000 for employee expenses. Blueface did not contest the case nor retain an attorney. By January 2024, having failed to contribute to the damages, his debt, including interest and penalties, escalated to $14 million.
In mid-January 2024, Blueface was arrested for probation violation relating to an assault that occurred in the San Fernando Valley in 2021.
Early Life
Born Jonathan Michael Porter on January 20, 1997, in Los Angeles, California, Blueface lived with his mother in Santa Clarita Valley before moving in with his father in Oakland. After returning to Los Angeles, he attended Arleta High School, participated in the marching band, and played as the starting quarterback on the football team, leading them to an East Valley League championship in 2014. Following this, he played football at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina but left in 2016.
Viral Breakthroughs
He began his rapping career in January 2017, initially under the name “Blueface Bleedem,” inspired by the School Yard Crips street gang. Legend has it that he was discovered when he attended a friend’s recording session to grab a phone charger and ended up in a rap battle. The product of that battle was the song “Deadlocs,” which he uploaded to SoundCloud and attracted a modest following.
Success
In June 2018, now simply known as “Blueface,” he released a full-length album titled “Famous Cryp.” The album gained popularity in Southern California, bolstered by the re-titled “Dead Locs” and featuring the original of his hit single “Thotiana.”
That same year, he became an internet sensation with the release of the music video for “Respect My Cryppin’,” showcasing his unique rapping style and affiliation with the Crips street gang. This surge in visibility helped gain recognition for even more of his tracks, such as “Next…”
“Big Thing” and “Thotiana” are among Blueface’s notable works. His fame skyrocketed when he orchestrated a contest via Instagram to choose a high school for him to visit, and Pasadena High School emerged victorious. Towards the end of 2018, he again went viral by previewing his upcoming track “Bleed It” online.
In 2018, Blueface inked a deal with Cash Money West, the West Coast division of Birdman’s Cash Money Records label.
Throughout 2019, Blueface’s popularity continued to climb. Early in that year, he achieved his inaugural Billboard Hot 100-charting track with “Thotiana,” which was later remixed by Cardi B and YG, ultimately reaching the eighth position on the chart. Also released in 2019 was the music video for his single “Stop Cappin,” which amassed over five million views within its first four days on YouTube. Subsequently, he launched his eight-track EP titled “Dirt Bag,” featuring collaborations with Rich the Kid, Lil Pump, Offset, and other artists.
March 2020 saw Blueface release his first studio album titled “Find the Beat.” This album boasts collaborations with artists such as Polo G, Gunna, Jeremih, DaBaby, and YBN Nahmir, including singles like “Close Up,” “First Class,” “Obama,” and “Holy Moly.” “Find the Beat” secured the 64th position on the Billboard 200 and rose to number 39 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
Blueface has made guest appearances on multiple tracks. In 2019, he collaborated on French Montana’s “Slide,” the remix of NLE Choppa’s “Shotta Flow,” and Farid Bang’s “FULU$.” The following year, he featured on the remixes of DDG’s “Moonwalking in Calabasas” and 1TakeJay’s “Proud of U.”
Boxing Career
In addition to his music career, Blueface has taken up amateur boxing. During the summer of 2021, he made his boxing debut against TikTok personality Kane Trujillo on the undercard of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 19: VanZant vs. Ostovich, winning the match by unanimous decision. After being withdrawn from two exhibition matches in 2022 due to accusations of domestic abuse against his girlfriend, he was set to face TikTok star Ed Mathews in London in 2023.
Personal Life
Blueface shares a son named Javaughn and a daughter named Journey with his former girlfriend and social media influencer, Jaidyn Alexis. He has his son’s name tattooed on his right arm. In a moment of turmoil in 2020, Alexis damaged Blueface’s car and property upon finding out about his infidelity. Later, his new girlfriend, Chrisean Rock, stole his car.
Real Estate
In January 2020, Blueface purchased a residence in Chatsworth, California, for $1.22 million. He notably painted the exterior in a blue and white camouflage design. This property was sold in August 2023 for $1.353 million. Prior to his acquisition, the previous owners had styled the home as a “Star Wars Getaway.” A video tour showcasing the home in its original Star Wars theme can be found below:
